Information Collection and Use

Categories of personally identifiable information collected by the grants management database may include: name, address, and demographic information of applicants, reviewers and grantees.  Information about you collected by the grants management database  is utilized for the purposes of assessing grant applications, monitoring grant awards, and evaluating research outcomes for funded programs.  Fields marked with an “*” are required. Article IX, of the California Constitution grants authority to the University of California to maintain this information.

In order to keep you informed of information such as program reports, grant opportunities, symposia and/or special events, we may also use personal information collected from the grants management database system for the purpose of future communication back to registered users. Such email notification will be conducted in conformance with University of California and campus policies implementing anti-spam laws (

The UCOP Research Grants Program Office will not disclose or share, without your consent, personally identifiable information, except for certain explicit circumstances in which disclosure may be required by law.  Your personally identifiable information will not be distributed or sold to third-party organizations.
